New studio for craft workshops

We must have picked the coldest week of the winter to finish off the barn at La Verderie. However, in spite of snow and freezing temperatures yesterday Culli, Steve and Roger managed to get the doors on the front of the barn.

Today it is still cold but sunny so hopefully they will get it finished by the end of the week just in time for the first painting workshop this weekend! It will make a fantastic studio space for workshops and will also double up as a gallery and great party room!

Knitting, crochet, painting and woodturning courses in France

At last the sun has arrived and I am torn between spending the days catching up on the gardening, finishing off the decorating and updating the websites. Also, it is only three weeks to go until the Mystery Blanket workshop and I have lots to do. I am knitting new throws for some of the guest rooms which need to be finished, cooking to be done (have just taken a chocolate torte out of the oven, which doesn't look very impressive, but it is ready for freezing and with the addition of raspberries and cream I think it will get eaten) and there is masses of spring cleaning to be finished.

painting class with tutor Pamela Slater

The painting and woodturning courses are starting to fill up with bookings for March and May, see more details on the Art in France website. Tutor Pam is getting up to speed on the workshops with a weekly class for a few of us, it is great to be painting again, but depressing how out of practice I am.
